COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- A woman was killed after being struck on I-71 on the south side of Columbus Monday afternoon.
The Franklin County Sheriff's office said Ashley Dennison, 29, of Grove City, had run out of gas. She was trying to cross the interstate near I-270 to get help.
Dennison had crossed once, but when her boyfriend arrived to help she tried to run back across to get to him. That's when she was hit by a Cincinnati woman.
Dennison was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
